The Worshipful Master requests your attendance at our
Stated Communication November 7th & 21st, 2016
From the East
It is getting closer to the time for you to decide on your officers for 2017. The first meeting in December is close at hand. Are you thinking about being an elected or appointed officer? If so, please let your interest be known to the Lodge or an officer of the Lodge, we will help you in your travel to the East. This has been a great year for me. You my brothers have made my job as Worshipful Master a very easy one with all the support you have shown and given me. I thank you all.
Allan J Baker
From the South
The Lodge added 4 newly Raised Brothers to our Fraternity in October. All of the new Master Masons are very excited to be a part of this Great and Honorable Fraternity. We had our version of Octoberfest, which was a great success for all who attend. Halloween is upon us with all its ghouls and goblins trolling the streets, please beware of the children out and about this frightening season. As stated in last month Trestle Board elections are coming and any Master Mason interested in a position or becoming an officer of the Lodge should make it known by making out the form available in the Secretaries office. To be a good and bright Mason as we have heard, we need to attend our fellow Lodges in the 16th District to show our support for them as some are having difficulties in filling their chairs for their meetings. Our Lodge has been very fortunate having members willing to take on the leadership rolls and many responsibilities that go with them making our Lodge a strong and vibrant part of the 16th. Masonic District. I can see the day coming to start working on the fire escape as the days are getting cooler and humidity is lowering. There is much to be done to get the fire escape back in shape. As the Lodge has taken on this project ourselves we will be needing everyone’s help to complete this project. Brothers, lets get down and dirty when asked to help. Eastern Star Chapter 3 has started having their meetings again and are planning some events of their own. Be sure to show them our support as they have done for us. November’s menu will be chicken pot pie for the November 7th dinner with chef salad, rolls and butter, dessert German chocolate cake. The dinner on November 21st will be traditional turkey dinner with all the fixings. I plan on seeing all my fellow Brothers for these meetings. Come and enjoy the great Fellowship our Lodge provides

Lodge History Continued:
The Lodge grew slowly but steadily from 1896 to 1905. The returns show the membership at the close of each year as follows:
1896 – 21 1897 – 23 1898 – 29 1899 – 33 1900 – 34
1901 – 36 1902 – 36 1903 – 39 1904 – 41 1905 – 47
In those days the Annual Returns showed the occupation of the Members. Those were: Doctor, Druggist, Merchant, Orange Grower, Bridge Builder, Carpenter, Painter, Locomotive Engineer, Trainman, County Officer, Salesman, Tax Collector, Fireman, Hotel Owner, Boatman, Postmaster, Contractor, Machinist, Professor and one who was listed as a Capitalist. There were only five Brethren elected Worshipful Master during this entire ten year period. Not having Lodge minutes which would have detailed the circumstances, I carefully matched the Annual Returns with the Grand Lodge Registry of Particular Lodges, and both show the names and years as followed:
1895 George H. Count, UD Master 1896 George H. Count 1897 George H. Count
1898 John M. Boyett 1899 John M. Boyett 1900 Marion A Brunson
1901 William S. Hart 1902 William S. Hart 1903 William S. Hart
1904Benjamin F. Chilton 1905 William S. Hart
