The Worshipful Master requests your attendance at our
Stated Communication September 19th, 2016
From the South
As the unofficial end of summer approaches, we find ourselves about to enter into the fall with a degree for each month, starting with a Master Mason degree on September 17th. There are 5 Brothers about to join our ranks as Master Masons, which is great for our Lodge. The first Lodge breakfast will be held on September 10th at 7am, where the fishing raffle drawing will take place. A big thank you goes out to all the Brothers who helped with the ticket sales! The Lodge will be going back to our 1st and 3rd Monday night meetings in October, be sure to put them on your calendars; dinner at 6pm, meetings to start at 7pm. The Worshipful Master has been seeking information on getting the fire escape sandblasted and painted. We need to get this done as soon as we can because it is in rough shape. The meeting at the Lodge on August 17th about Circumscribe™, had a good turnout, with the Grand Secretary, M:.W:. Richard Lynn conducting the meeting. Most of the lodges in the 16th District were represented and many raised their concerns about the new system and when it would be up and running. With much ahead of us please be sure to attend as many of the Lodge meetings as possible. Bring a Brother who has not been to the Lodge for some time so they may know that Masonry is still alive and well. They may be pleased and surprised. We will be having breakfast at the Lodge on September 17th at 8am for the Master Mason degree. The Senior Warden, Walter Layton, will be in the East for the degree which begins at 9am. Be sure to attend. The new Brothers will sure appreciate the support. Make it a big day for them and for our Lodge. The menu for our September 19th meeting is barbeque ribs, baked potato, baked beans, and garlic bread. We’ll have brownies for dessert. The ribs will be provided by the Worshipful Master, Allan Baker and his smoker. He wants all to know that the smoker is ready for parties and other events, just contact him for information.

Continue of Lodge History
The first 10 years. The Lodge has no written record of this period of our history. There are statistical records of our Lodge contained Grand Lodge Proceedings and our Annual Returns, copies of which I obtained from Grand Lodge files. These 2 sources contain membership lists, names of officers reported degree work, deaths, dimits, suspensions, reinstatements, and dues paid to Grand Lodge. They contain little else. While the forms used to make these reports contain interesting language, they contain nothing of the day to day activities of the Lodge. Many times I was tempted to use my imagination, but I do not permit myself to do so. Only the facts published in those two sources have been used. Therefore, the coverage of the first 10 years will by necessity be brief. As we know from the previous chapter, we began as a chartered Lodge in the 14th Masonic District, in a Lodge Room above the C. L. Dohn Feed Store at Canal and Faulkner Streets in New Smyrna Beach Florida. (To Be Continued)

Update on Circumscribe
Circumscribe has been fully uploaded for our Lodge as of Thursday August 25th, 2016,
Circumscribe is here on line for our Lodge. I will put the instructions on line and in the Trestle Board for a while so all can use them. The meeting on August 17th was very informative. I will not be present at the Stated Communications on September 19th 2016, but will have instructions printed up and will have someone there with the computer to show those present how to log on for the first time. We can also take pictures of brothers with the computer and will try to have everything running for you all. But please be patient with us as this is just as new to us as it is to you. The instructions will still be posted on the Trestle Board,
1 To Login to Circumscribe, simply follow these instructions:
2 Open your internet browser
3 Navigate to https://glfl.circumscribe.net
4 Your Grand Lodge number is on your current dues card
5 Enter your initial Username:
6 “FL” + Your Grand Lodge Number +”@changeyouremail.info”
(Example FL1234567@changeyouremail.info) this is for your user name to get started.
(Example FL1234567) for your password. (FL and your Grand Lodge Number)
7 You will be immediately prompted to change both your username and password.
Your NEW password must contain 8 characters and 1 number
8 Upon successfully entering both, you will be required to logout, and then log
Back in with your new credentials.
9 Once you have successfully logged back in, navigate to your Masonic profile by selecting “Profile” from the menu items on the left side of the screen. Review your profile and make any appropriate changes to your contact information, and upload a current picture for your new permeant ID card. You must upload your picture prior to December 20, 2016. After this date, you will be sent a dues card without your picture, and replacement cards are $5.00 each. When uploading your picture, use as high a resolution as possible, and your face should be positioned to take up as much of the photo square as possible. You should avoid hats, sunglasses, other individuals or animals in the picture.
10 Be sure to select “Save Profile” to complete the process.
Online help is always available at http://help.circumscribe.net or by clicking the question mark icon on the top right of the Circumscribe dashboard once you are logged in. For additional support please contact me by phone 386-423-2370. If I am not at the Lodge leave a message and I will call you back when I get back at the secretaries desk.
Brothers, when you have registered on line with circumscribe please send the secretary a email just noting you are registered.
A J Winterwerp
